November 8, 2013, Beijing, China. MCM Group was one of five firms recognized with the World Hotel Association’s highest award presented at their international awards ceremony, held this year in Beijing, China. The Continental Diamond Award honors the world’s “Best Hotel Design Agencies.”
In addition to the firm receiving the prestigious award, Michael Mitchell, the firm’s founder, received the 2013 “Best Hotel Designer Award” for his work on resort hotels. Stuart Morgan, A.I.A., one of MCM’s Group Design Team leaders, received the award on behalf of MCM. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Morgan stressed MCM’s focus on Experiential Design, “MCM focuses on creating meaningful experiences with our designs, helping guests connect to a place and a culture – creating destinations that provide much more than mere leisure experiences.”
