The topic of the 2014 competition is “Unexpected City,” a city of wonder, a city where imagination, creativity, and the new boldly surpass what has been. The Unexpected City will discover new relationships between ancient tradition, modernity and technology. It will offer a new perspective on living space, nature, and respect for everyone while featuring specific architectural and urban projects. After all, home is not only ‘where the heart is’ but where the house and neighborhood reside. We expect a high level of intellectual ambition, artistic originality and freedom of thought to bear on those who build in this world and on those who participate in these awards.
