On May 18th, MCM Group was honored with a Design Award of Honor from the California Council of the Society of American Registered Architects at their annual Professional Design Awards Banquet. MCM Group associates Daniel Shirk, AIA, SARA and Tina Gu accepted the award at the presentation, held this year in Palm Springs at historic Spencer’s Restaurant, a mid-century modern classic designed by noted architects Paul Williams and A. Quincy Jones.

In an unprecedented move, the Design Award of Honor, usually bestowed upon a single project, was awarded for an entire oeuvre of five Chinese projects by MCM Group. The following projects were acknowledged with the award: Cang Ma Mountain Eco Resort, COFCO Eco Resort and Attraction, Hainan South Pearl Conceptual Master Plan, Nanjing Youth Olympic Games 2014 and Zhucheng Dinosaur National Geological Park.
