This project represents the master plan and facility planning for the Youth Olympic Games – a recently sanctioned Olympic Games for youth under 18. The plan also serves as the second phase of urban redevelopment for an emergent but underutilized area of Nanjing, China, along the Yangtze River. Iconic architecture represents the themes of the games and is bold enough to showcase the city that is cutting-edge and world-class. Designs highlight both the game symbols and spirit of international cooperation as well as highlighting the symbols of Nanjing’s three distinct cultures.
