The design concept is to represent Yi Culture’s traditions at the same time as harmonizing with the adjacent Ancient Zodiac Monument. The 500-room hotel is informed by traditional influences while being married with a modern more cosmopolitan aesthetic. Keeping the rough stone exteriors of the region, building shapes were massaged into a more elegant, modern Chinese feel. Yi culture is celebrated through cultural performances, art galleries, as well as traditional Yi color schemes and ornamentation.
