MCM Group International CEO Michael Mitchell was invited on the Jury for UIA-HYP Cup 2014 International Student Competition in Architectural Design which took place at Tsinghua University on September 20th, 2014. Out of a total of 867 submitted entries, 42 were recognized with awards, including one First Prize, 3 Second Prizes, 9 Third Prizes and 29 Honorable Mention Awards. “The Unexpected STORM in Nicosia, Cyprus” by Biel Susanna Viladot from Polytechnic University of Cataloniaand and Stefanos Theodorou from Aalto University won first prize.
September 16, 2014, Ningbo, Zhejiang, China. China Maritime Movie Studio, the nation’s first maritime & movie culture-based theme park designed by MCM Group International broke ground in Xinqiao Ningbo Movie Culture Industrial Zone, Xiangshan County. Co-invested by Zhejiang Radio & TV Group (ZRTG) and Xiangshan People’s Government with an initial investment of RMB 2 billion yuan, the 1,000 mu Park is expected to be open in late 2017.
June 22, 2014, Chengdu, China. Michael C. Mitchell, CEO of MCM Group International, and Christine Zhao, Senior Manager of MCM Southwest China Region, paid an official visit to Yidao Design Institute. Lan Yongqiang, General Manager of the Institute, welcomed MCM’s delegation on behalf of all the members of his organization. Mr. Lan proposed collaboration between both teams and a cooperative agreement was signed. He expressed his willingness to push the business of MCM Southwest China Division to a higher ground. Mr. Mitchell made remarks on the development history of MCM Group and the future of their cooperation. He signed the consent of awarding MCM’s signboard to Yidao, indicating the Institute’s inclusion as a member firm of MCM Group International.
