As Group Vice-President of the 23rd Olympic (Summer) Games, Michael Mitchell supervised the development of all 83 venues for the Games, including sports, cultural and support services. Considered the most successful Olympic Games, the development plan allowed for the games to be held without any outside financing in addition to generating $250 million surplus at the conclusion of the Games.
