The design approach of this national museum is to create an environment with an emotional resonance that supports a richer and deeper dialogue between the many communities it represents. The building design maximizes the purposeful use of indigenous forms, structures and local materials. The building is designed to be immediately recognized; to convey time-honored meaning; to project a story and brand image to the outside world; and to convey a sense of optimism and hope.
