Shangdong Dinosaur Museum, Zhucheng, PRC

MCM won the international competition to design the world’s largest dinosaur museum. Housing over one hundred complete dinosaurs dug at the site, the form of this 80,000 SM museum was dictated by the two excavation sites that the museum shelters. With thousands of bones still left in place, the museum wings allows visitors to walk above the two existing excavation sites to witness their final resting place. A series of pavilions feature special dinosaur exhibits, along with a 5-D IMAX theater, meeting rooms, and a central garden recreating the lost world of dinosaurs that once roamed the site.
